One of the great things about being a bike racer is you can compete in a variety of race types at any given time of the season. At all levels, the race schedule is filled with one-day races, shorter and longer stage races and, if you are a professional, the ultimate in racing, three-week grand tours. How should you adjust your training to be best prepared for these different race styles? To help us tackle this question, we asked our old friends Dario Cioni (Silence-Lotto) and Aaron Olsen (Team Bissell) some specific questions about how they focus their training for different types of races. We also asked them how they track their fitness progress through the season and year-to-year.
